Pay-Ins Processing
Payment Initiation
Payment initiation represents the request to process payment from consumer to merchant. Depending on the payment method, the transaction may be submitted through external payment rails, such as card networks, or funded directly from an available balance within the platform ecosystem. The payment request establishes the initial transaction record and provides the basis for downstream fund allocation and payout activities.
Processing Lifecycle
The payment lifecycle varies by payment method but generally progresses through a series of stages from initiation to final completion. During this process, a payment may be approved, declined, or cancelled. Only successfully approved transactions continue to downstream fund management activities such as allocation, settlement, and payout processing.
Prior to settlement, an approved transaction may be voided to prevent funds from being captured. Once a transaction has been captured and settled, additional post-payment events may occur depending on the circumstances, including refunds initiated by the merchant or customer, or chargebacks resulting from disputes raised through the payment network.
