Fee Management
Fee Management supports the creation, tracking, and reporting of fees associated with platform operations, payment processing, value-added services, and other commercial activities.
Platforms can apply fee amounts through allocation rules, transaction instructions, or platform-defined business logic. Fee Management provides visibility into fee activity, supports ledger-based tracking, and helps maintain transparency, reporting, reconciliation, and financial oversight across the ecosystem.
The following sections describe how fees are calculated, tracked, and reported within the Fund Management framework.
Platform/Service Fee Concepts
Fee Management supports the definition and application of fees associated with platform services, payment processing activities, and other value-added capabilities offered within the ecosystem. Fees may represent platform revenue, operational charges, service costs, or other commercial arrangements between parties.
Fee Calculation Ownership
Fee Management supports multiple fee calculation models, allowing fee amounts to be collected through platform-defined business logic from:
- pre-configured fund allocation rules
- values provided as part of funding instruction
This flexibility enables platforms to align fee processing with their commercial and operational requirements.
Fee Ledger Tracking
All fees are recorded from transaction or instruction proceeds, providing clear visibility into fees and adjustments. Separate ledger tracking creates a comprehensive financial record of fee activity, supporting transparency, reporting, reconciliation, and auditability across the ecosystem.
Reporting and Reconciliation Impact
Fee data can be used to report and review platform revenue generated from each party across the ecosystem. By analyzing fee activity alongside transaction and payout activity, platforms can improve financial visibility, support reconciliation processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Flexible Fee Models
Fee Management does not require a specific pricing schedule when platforms send instructions to allocate the funds to participants. Platforms can support transaction-level fees, service-based fees, subscription charges, custom commercial arrangements, or externally calculated fee amounts without being constrained to a predefined pricing framework.
